Small Business Spotlight: Clothes, Shoes, and More

Tango doesn’t just happen on the dance floor—it’s supported by a whole network of small businesses that make dancing possible and enjoyable. Whether it’s the shoes you dance in, the clothes you feel great wearing, or the accessories you didn’t know you needed, local vendors are an important part of our community. In this Small Business Spotlight, we’re highlighting some of the small businesses that help keep our tango world moving.

MOOJI DESIGN STUDIO

Mooji is a familiar face in many dance spaces, and if you’ve seen her on the floor, you already know she moves with both style and intention. Dancing everything from tango to balboa, Mooji brings her experience as a dancer directly into her designs, creating clothing that’s made by dancers, for dancers. Each piece is handmade, often one of a kind, and designed with movement, comfort, and expression in mind.

She sells individual pieces and custom commissions, and occasionally offers handmade earrings. If you’re looking for something that feels personal, thoughtfully crafted, and truly unique, Mooji’s work is a great place to start. You can follow her on Instagram at @moojidesignstudio and sign up for her email list through the Mooji Design Studio website to stay up to date on new releases.

Analii’s Clothing & Creative Projects

Analii has been creating handmade clothing for dancers for years, and her pieces have made their way onto stages, performances, and social dance floors alike. Many dancers in our community already own and love her designs, which are known for being both functional and expressive—easy to move in, while still feeling special and intentional.

Her work isn’t limited to tango; Analii’s designs are a perfect fit for all kinds of dance styles, making her pieces versatile and widely loved. The best way to connect with her is often in person—through conversation or at local festivals—but she’s also reachable by email at analii2939@gmail.com for anyone interested in learning more or placing an order.

Dominic Bridge & Mono Shoes

Dominic’s relationship with Mono shoes goes back over a decade, long before he became their U.S. distributor. He has been dancing in Mono shoes exclusively for over 12 years, and for the past three years has been bringing them directly to dancers in the United States. Mono originally started as a custom footwear brand and later expanded into tango shoes—around the same time Dominic began teaching tango in Romania.

All Mono shoes are handcrafted in small batches using high-quality leather and traditional shoemaking techniques. The focus is on balancing comfort, durability, and refined aesthetics, with the goal of truly supporting the way dancers move. Dominic also offers custom sizing and design options, making this a great choice for dancers who struggle to find shoes that fit just right. You can reach him via email at dominic.bridge@gmail.com or on Instagram at @dominicbridgetango.

Giselle Anne: Clothes & Shoes from Argentina

Giselle Anne is a world-renowned tango dancer, teacher, and choreographer with nearly 40 years of experience on the dance floor. Her deep knowledge of movement and performance shines through in every piece she offers, all made in Argentina with attention to quality and detail. Her collection includes handcrafted shoes for both men and women—women’s heels, practice shoes, and men’s shoes—along with stylish clothing designed to move beautifully and comfortably with the dancer.

Every item reflects decades of insight into what truly works for tango: pieces that feel good, perform well, and look elegant in motion. You can explore her carefully curated selection at giselleanne.com.

Diana Cruz – Cruzartango

Diana Cruz is a beloved member of our tango community, known for her artistry as a dancer, choreographer, and educator. Her women’s tango shoe line, Cruzartango, is handmade in Buenos Aires in limited editions, designed for comfort, stability, and elegance. Flexible soles, generous padding, and slightly wider heels make them ideal for followers of all levels.

Diana hand-selects every model, leather, and color combination, reflecting her care for the dance and the dancers who share the floor. She constantly introduces new models and hand-selected leather and color combinations, making each pair feel special and intentional. Her shoes reflect not only her expertise but also her love for the dance and the dancers who fill the floor.

anita’s shoes

Anita has been sharing her love of quality dance footwear by selling Fulana dance shoes and boots for nearly three years. Handmade in Argentina, these thoughtfully crafted shoes are primarily made of leather (with some vegan options available) and feature low heels that are especially supportive for women who lead — though even a few men have fallen in love with the Oxford styles. Beautiful, comfortable, and built for movement, they’re made to support long nights on the dance floor.

Over the years, Anita has helped more than 100 dancers find their perfect pair, serving not only tango dancers but also members of the swing and country dance communities. Anyone interested in trying on a pair can reach out directly to Anita Saha at (312) 560-3682 to arrange a visit to Casa Anita in Denver and experience these comfortable, handcrafted shoes in person.

Monique’s Fans & the Musana Project

Monique’s fans are a beautiful example of how dance accessories can also support something much bigger. Each fan is handmade by women in Uganda through Musana, a nonprofit organization focused on helping people build self-sustaining communities through vocational training and employment opportunities. You can learn more about the nonprofit and their work at musana.org.

All proceeds from these fans go directly to the women who make them and to their communities, supporting income, education, and long-term stability. It’s a meaningful way to bring something beautiful into your dance life while also making a real difference beyond it. To learn more or purchase a fan, you can contact Monique at moniquegarcia@musana.org.

Supporting the Community That Keeps Us Dancing

These small businesses each bring something unique to our dance community—creativity, craftsmanship, cultural connection, and care. Whether you’re looking for clothes that move with you, shoes that truly support your dancing, or accessories with a deeper story, these vendors remind us that tango is more than just steps on a floor. It’s a network of people, skills, and shared passion that extends far beyond the embrace. Supporting local and small businesses like these helps keep that network strong, vibrant, and full of heart.
